Course

Plaster making course- Villány- Hungary

On this course you can learn the plaster making techniques, which can be sucessfully adapted later to your own work. During the 5 and a half days you can get directions to desing and implement your own ideas. We discuss the plan and how to make a perfect plaster model and plaster mould. Because the plaster will not dry during the course we discuss the exact use of it and how to mold and model a plaster form.
The place of the course is a famous wine region of Hungary, where working with grapes are originated in the celtic times. You can get to know the award winning wines of Polgár Winery and the fantastic Hungarian dishes of the Polgár Pansion.
The region is also famous of its thermal waters and baths and the nearest city, Pécs can be a good cultural excursion. In 2010 the city was the cultural capital of Europe.

Making functional object plaster model and plaster mould:

You can learn how to make your own plaster mould, step by step, from desing to construction of the plaster model. At the end of the course through a display you will get guidance on the molding techniques, which can be used later individually.

Making sculptural object (figure or abstact) plaster model and plaster mould:

The duration of the course do not give the opportunity to make a great sized sculpture, therefore to this course we expect applicants who make their own bigger sized sculptures (maximum 1 meter). If there are special needs (irregular material, size or complexity of the sculpture) we recommend that you contact us prior to the course, to help the sucessful implementation.
